Key Responsibilities- Technical Coordination: Coordinate the development and exchange of information, as well as technical correspondence between customers, architects, engineers, vendors, and other organizations working on the project.
- Leadership: Lead discussions with architects, engineers, and vendors on routine and unique applications, and provide evaluations of potential first-time vendors.
- Contract Management: Understand contract obligations, including scope, cost, schedule, and scope split responsibilities of other project engineers on the project.
- Project Meetings: Partner with the project manager as the technical lead during customer project meetings, and participate in joint venture and licensee interfacing.
- Technical Interface: Serve as the technical interface between customers, vendors, sublet engineers, fabricators, and the erector, including the development of specification and document submittal requirements, resolution of questions, and monitoring of schedule commitments and cost allocations.
- Engineering Management: Monitor engineering man-hour expenditures, manage technical guarantee risk throughout the project, and work closely with shop and field personnel to resolve problems during manufacture, construction, and start-up phases of the project.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinate the resolution of engineering errors, and participate in QA inspections as required.
- Project Controls: Work with Project Controls to ensure compliance throughout all project phases by identifying project changes, evaluating potential cost variances, and determining schedule impact before changes are implemented.
- Engineering Change Control: Manage engineering change control with minimum supervision to maintain engineering schedule and man-hour estimates.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology (or significant relevant working experience in lieu of degree)
- 10-12 years experience in a relevant field preferred
- A Professional Engineer's license is desirable
- Relevant engineering background and sufficient knowledge and interpersonal skills to coordinate multiple engineering activities simultaneously
