Position Overview

LMK Recruiting is seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR initiatives. This pivotal role involves collaborating with executive leadership to align HR strategies with the organization's long-term goals. The Director will oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance employee engagement and ensure compliance with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily HR operations and partner with senior management to advance the organization's strategic vision.
  • Design, implement, and uphold HR strategies, policies, and procedures to guarantee adherence to federal, state, and corporate regulations.
  • Manage essential HR functions, including record-keeping, recruitment, promotions, terminations, compensation, benefits, and employee relations, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Drive recruitment efforts to foster employee growth and maintain a positive, safe, and engaging workplace culture.
  • Effectively communicate HR policies, rules, and practices to ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational directives.
  • Establish and oversee processes to comply with relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Manage comprehensive benefits programs, including medical, dental, and retirement plans, while recommending enhancements to improve employee satisfaction and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements and government reporting regulations.
  • Oversee processes for managing employee leave, coordinating with employees and service providers.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee grievances, ensuring resolutions align with company policies and legal standards.
  • Develop and manage HR policies and procedures, including vendor relations, ensuring effective training and application.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports regularly, assisting in budget preparation through detailed analysis of participation and claims data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in leading and managing HR departments in a senior capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices related to hiring, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse teams to meet or exceed organizational goals.
  • Exceptional consulting, coaching, and management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to learn proprietary HRIS systems.
  • Experience in policy implementation related to employment verification is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of California wage and hour laws is necessary.
