Research Associate I, Technical Operations Specialist

A-Alpha Bio is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate I to support our Technical Operations team's execution of our yeast-based AlphaSeq platform for drug discovery and optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating media, executing yeast transformations, and supporting the execution of other workflows.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic team in a cutting-edge biotechnology company. As a Research Associate I, you will work collaboratively with our team to ensure the efficient execution of our workflows and contribute to the development of new therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare media, agar plates, competent yeast strains, and other shelf-stable reagents.
- Perform yeast transformation, isogenic yeast strain construction, and yeast mating.
- Characterize yeast library and strain expression via flow cytometry.
- Perform yeast DNA extractions, quantitative PCR, and other molecular biology techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with hands-on laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques, including PCR.
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills, team orientation, and attention to detail.
