About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at American Institutes for Research. As a Research Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and evaluation of innovative healthcare service delivery and payment models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytic and operational support for the implementation, monitoring, or evaluation of healthcare service delivery and payment models.
  • Apply research methods and techniques to manage and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Write customized and presentation-quality reports and operating procedures for various audiences.
  • Provide custom technical assistance on complex policies to different audiences.
  • Help with administrative and project management tasks.
  • Write, compile, and edit assigned portions of proposals.
  • Review work products to ensure quality and consistency of content.
  • Foster an environment that embraces diverse perspectives, abilities, racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, gender identities and expressions, educational experiences, and life stories.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Economics, Public Policy, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related social science field required OR Bachelors degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proposal or report preparation experience.
  • Experience with qualitative or quantitative research methods.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing information from doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers participating in healthcare programs or demonstrations.
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare service delivery and payment models is preferred but not required.
  • Experience and knowledge of data analysis and data management techniques using R, Python, SAS, SQL, SPSS, STATA, Access, Excel, and/or other databases is preferred but not required.
