Imaging Specialist I

We are seeking an Imaging Specialist I to join our team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to the scientific needs of researchers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks, including operating sophisticated scientific instruments and assisting users with instrument operation and data analysis.
- Conduct imaging studies using Cellular Imaging instruments, including acquiring images and executing image analysis pipelines.
- Assist in developing team SOPs, training materials, and guidelines for investigator use.
- Report results to users, perform basic billing requirements, and facilitate data transfer and archiving.
- Establish and maintain positive collaborative working relationships with faculty, researchers, and external users to identify scientific needs.
- Associate Degree and 1+ years of experience, or GED/High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience.
- Bachelors in Biology, Biophysics, or Engineering preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new systems and techniques.
- Previous experience using and a basic understanding of light microscopy, especially live-cell and widefield fluorescence microscopy.
- Basic understanding of image processing software (e.g. ImageJ/FIJI).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Desire to work in a collaborative small-team environment.
