Job Title: Research Administration Manager I

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Research Administration Manager I to join our team. As a key member of our Human Biology Division, you will be responsible for the successful management of fiscal, administrative, and regulatory operations of multiple research portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Principle Investigators, Division leadership, and other departments on administrative and operational planning for assigned research labs
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements for the full life cycle of federal and non-federal research funding in accordance with sponsor and institutional policies
  • Implement accurate human resources processes, tasks, and best practices
  • Mentor and train team members of all experience levels
  • Navigate various complex administrative and financial systems
  • Partner with Division and Fred Hutch Leadership to identify operational issues and areas of improvement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in research administration, including federal grants and contract administration
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least three years of experience managing direct reports and conducting performance appraisals
  • Strong skills mentoring peers and working effectively with a variety of colleagues
  • Ability to manage complex activities in a research setting, including finances, regulatory oversight, and administration
