The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is undergoing significant growth.

The Neuroanesthesia and Perioperative Neurosciences Division offers comprehensive perioperative care for patients undergoing both elective and emergency neurosurgical and neuro-interventional procedures at our affiliated hospitals.

This division plays a crucial role in the perioperative experience, ensuring optimal patient care through strong interdisciplinary collaboration with neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical teams.

Our commitment to enhancing lives is further exemplified by our world-class rehabilitation programs.

Annually, we conduct over 1000 spine surgeries, 1000 neurological procedures, and 300 neuro-interventional cases.

Employment Requirements:

Candidates for this role should have completed a US-accredited residency in Anesthesiology along with a minimum of one year of fellowship training in Neuro-anesthesiology or possess equivalent training and certification.

Board Eligibility or Certification in Anesthesiology is mandatory for this position.

(Equivalence to board certification can be evaluated on an individual basis). While research experience is not a prerequisite for application, it is highly valued.

Job Responsibilities:

This role entails delivering high-quality clinical care, engaging in educational activities, and contributing to research initiatives.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in academic endeavors related to clinical and basic research as well as medical education.
Applicants should be adept at supervising residents, fellows, CRNAs, and SRNAs.
Independently performing cases may also be required as necessary.

Involvement in the department's academic functions, including teaching and mentoring trainees, as well as participating in departmental conferences and faculty meetings, is essential.

Responsibilities include instructing residents, fellows, and medical students.
Some clinical duties in general anesthesia may be necessary based on departmental requirements.
The distribution of effort may be adjusted according to departmental needs, candidates' interests, and success in securing external grant funding.

Compensation:
Compensation is contingent upon years of experience and the determination of academic rank at the time of hiring.
