Position Overview:

The Division of Neuroradiology within the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is actively seeking a fellowship-trained professional for a full-time faculty role at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the Clinical Educator Track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of 11 fellowship-trained Neuroradiologists, all certified by the CAQ.
  • Responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic images from various facilities, notably Jackson Memorial Hospital, a prominent 1600-bed primary and tertiary care County hospital, as well as the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics.
  • The University’s facilities encompass an acute care in-patient center, UHealth Tower, which features 550 beds. Future expansions are planned to enhance the University of Miami's presence in South Florida through additional clinics and outpatient centers.
  • The Division is committed to training numerous radiology residents and medical students and offers a one-year Neuroradiology Fellowship, accommodating six fellows annually.
  • There are ample research opportunities available, supported by a dedicated research magnet.

Job Functions:

  • Provide expert interpretations of plain film, CT, and MR studies from multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital.
  • Engage in clinical care and consultation, educate trainees, and participate in research initiatives.
  • Contribute to grand rounds, journal clubs, and multidisciplinary conferences, while also serving on departmental and institutional committees.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor faculty and staff physicians.
  • Conduct research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
  • Represent the institution at conferences and deliver presentations as required.
  • Instruct and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Attend faculty and departmental meetings, providing insights and suggestions for enhancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of Radiology training and successful passage of the ABR core exam (or ABR-certified).
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in Florida, with completion of a fellowship in Neuroradiology and eligibility for (or CAQ in) Neuroradiology.
  • M.D. or D.O., Ph.D., or equivalent in medicine, with eligibility for full medical licensure in Florida.
  • Demonstrated excellence in academic performance, evidenced by a record of scientific presentations and/or publications.

To qualify for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must provide proof of successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or an equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
