Breast Imaging Clinical Faculty Position

Position Overview:

The Division of Breast Imaging within the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Health System is in search of a fellowship-trained professional for a full-time faculty role at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor on the Clinical Educator Track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will collaborate with breast imaging specialists across various facilities.
  • Responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic images from multiple healthcare settings, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
  • Plans for expansion of the University of Miami's services in South Florida are underway, with the introduction of additional clinics and outpatient centers.

Essential Duties:

  • Deliver clinical imaging services, including mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and interventional procedures.
  • Engage in the education of residents, breast imaging fellows, and medical students.
  • Contribute to clinical research initiatives, participate in journal clubs, and attend weekly multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Serve on departmental committees as directed by the Chair of Radiology.
  • Mentor and train faculty and staff physicians.
  • Conduct research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
  • Represent the institution at professional conferences and deliver presentations as required.
  • Participate in faculty and departmental meetings, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for enhancement.

Facility Highlights:

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and associated breast imaging facilities are equipped with advanced technology, including digital breast tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced digital mammography, and a variety of ultrasound units. The centers also feature multiple MRI machines with breast imaging capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have completed a fellowship in Breast Imaging.
  • Both junior and senior faculty with a proven academic track record will be considered.
  • Must possess an M.D. or D.O., Ph.D., or equivalent in medicine, with eligibility for full medical licensure in Florida.
  • Demonstrated excellence in academic achievements, evidenced by scientific presentations and publications.

Note: To qualify for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign medical schools must have successfully completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or an equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
