Position Overview

The Senior Loan Review Analyst will act as a key support to the Department Head, Chief Loan Review Officer, in defining strategic objectives and leading a team of reviewers to achieve them. This role will deliver an impartial evaluation of credit risk by analyzing portfolio patterns and reviewing individual loans and portfolios for compliance with established policies and procedures, adequate oversight, appropriate risk classifications, and sound underwriting practices.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Support the Loan Review Department Manager in defining objectives and strategies for the department.
  • Assist in the deployment of necessary tools and methodologies to achieve departmental goals.
  • Facilitate the department's follow-up on identified concerns.
  • Conduct independent evaluations of credit quality.
  • Assess the accuracy and promptness of risk ratings assigned by loan officers.
  • Examine compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant federal laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate the management oversight of lending portfolios.
  • Prepare comprehensive written and verbal communications and reports.
  • Identify, communicate, and advocate for issues requiring corrective measures and recommendations for enhancement.
  • Collaborate with and support other credit-related functions within the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for regulatory and Audit Committees as required.
  • Engage in due diligence processes for potential acquisitions.
  • Provide mentorship to Junior Loan Review Officers and Loan Review Officers.
  • Guide and support Junior Loan Review Officers and Loan Review Officers in fulfilling departmental objectives.
  • Evaluate investment security risk classifications in accordance with organizational standards.
Qualifications

-Essential Skills:
  • Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in performing calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of six years' experience as a Loan Review Officer, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least ten years' experience in roles such as Loan Review Officer, Commercial Credit Analyst, or Commercial Loan Officer.
  • Preference for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and relevant experience.
