Job Overview

The Overnight Hotel Auditor is tasked with the precise reconciliation of all hotel financial transactions for each 24-hour operational cycle. This role also encompasses responsibilities as a Guest Service Agent during the overnight shift at the establishment. The Auditor plays a crucial role in consistently achieving outcomes that align with the hotel's mission and overall success by meeting performance targets related to front desk operations. Additionally, the Auditor serves as the liaison for hotel systems during nighttime hours, addressing any technical issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the standards of exceptional service in all guest interactions, adhering to established service protocols.
  • Conduct thorough audits of room, food and beverage, and telephone revenues to ensure accuracy; assist in generating relevant daily revenue reports.
  • Verify and reconcile room tax charges, cashier reports, and guest accounts for precision.
  • Compile and submit daily management and accounting reports along with supporting documentation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare reporting packs for the General Manager on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Assist in setting up the complimentary breakfast service, including food stations and beverage supplies.
  • Support laundry operations by washing, drying, and folding hotel linens.
  • Act as the primary security contact during designated times throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to address accounting discrepancies and share necessary information.
  • Register guests, issue room keys, and provide comprehensive information about hotel amenities and services.
  • Process all cash and credit transactions in accordance with established protocols, including posting charges and preparing deposits.
  • Manage guest reservations, including bookings, cancellations, and modifications, while promoting room upgrades to optimize revenue.
  • Adhere to the seasonal reservation strategy as outlined by hotel management regarding pricing and room types.
  • Encourage teamwork and quality service through effective communication and coordination with other shifts and departments.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages while servicing the hotel shop.
  • Fulfill guest special requests and ensure the delivery of high-quality guest services.
  • Manage guest safe-deposit box operations.
  • Comply with all applicable health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of prior hotel experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay sector is advantageous.
  • Strong reading and writing skills are necessary for maintaining department records and guest information.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including understanding percentages and variances, are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and training skills are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Opera systems is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, and move throughout the facility is necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to obtain ServSafe and TIPS certifications.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
