Job Overview

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is essential for ensuring the precise management of all revenue streams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct daily reconciliations of various revenue streams and authorize their posting in Financial Edge.
  • Oversee the payroll process via Paylocity on a bi-weekly schedule, ensuring accurate recording of hours, approval of PTO requests, and processing of manual checks when necessary.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile monthly revenue from diverse sources such as Admissions, Gift Shop, Restaurant, and Special Events.
  • Reconcile monthly development reports.
  • Authorize daily data entry to document reconciled cash receipts and revenue batches.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of drink tickets during special events.
  • Generate monthly reports for departments, projects, and events, focusing on variance analysis.
  • Complete weekly reporting and analytics to assess operational metrics.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager during the annual independent audit.
  • Ensure compliance with revenue recording policies with support from the Accounting Manager.
  • Create daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries to accurately reflect assigned accounts.
  • Act as a liaison between the Accounting department and other departments regarding revenue and receivable matters.
  • Provide backup support to other Accounting personnel.
  • Engage in ad-hoc reporting and other related activities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and navigate accounting systems effectively.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and its practical application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Blackbaud (Financial Edge) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity is advantageous.
  • 2+ years of audit experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional walking and standing. Frequent computer use is necessary, and the ability to lift heavy change containers may be required.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

Accuracy is crucial in all aspects of this role. Attention to detail is essential, especially when performing repetitive tasks.
