Our client, a prominent publicly-traded professional services organization, is in search of a Lead Revenue Accountant to enhance their team.

Compensation:

$85,000 – $95,000 plus performance-based incentives

Role Overview:

The Lead Revenue Accountant will be an integral part of the revenue accounting division, overseeing the Month-End and Quarter-End closing processes while ensuring precise application of revenue recognition standards and partner revenue distribution calculations. This role encompasses the management of daily operations, as well as month-end and quarter-end general accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Revenue Accountant:
  • Execute balance sheet reconciliations against the General Ledger, prepare journal entries, and conduct revenue assessments.
  • Foster strong relationships and facilitate coordination within the revenue accounting team, alongside external auditors, finance, billing, and systems personnel.
  • Assess the accuracy and completeness of financial outcomes.
  • Maintain ownership and comprehensive understanding of assigned companies and products.
  • Undertake additional revenue accounting tasks as directed by management to align with organizational objectives and implement process enhancements.
Required Qualifications for the Lead Revenue Accountant:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting or auditing.
  • Familiarity with Revenue Recognition and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (mandatory) and experience with Oracle JE/ARM Reconciliation Applications or similar ERP systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Tableau, BRM, Hyperion HFM/Essbase (a plus).
  • Exceptional leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a knack for prioritizing tasks and achieving goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to execute tasks accurately and promptly with minimal oversight.
  • Analytical mindset to navigate problems towards resolution and foster process efficiencies.
  • Ability to effectively interface and build rapport with external partners (Finance, Audit, Billing, Systems) as well as within the Accounting team.
  • Capacity to adapt and excel in a changing environment while managing multiple projects and financial responsibilities to achieve objectives.
  • Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality regarding financial duties and processes.
Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
  • A Master’s degree in Accounting/Business or CPA designation is preferred.
