Job Title: Youth Mental Health Specialist

About the Role:

ICAN Inc is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our ACT team, you will play a vital role in providing treatment to children and their families to support identified treatment goals and targeted service interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Case Contacts and Home Visits: Conduct home visits and provide case contacts to support the needs of children and their families.
  • Assessments and Treatment Planning: Complete assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address the clinical needs of children and their families.
  • Therapeutic Communication and Interactions: Provide therapeutic communication and interactions with youth and families to alleviate symptoms or functional limitations associated with a child's behavioral health diagnosis.
  • Crisis Response: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide crisis response and support to children and their families.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in daily morning team meetings and bi-weekly supervision to ensure seamless collaboration and communication with the ACT team.
  • Professional Development: Successfully complete required ACT Institute trainings and obtain and maintain CANS certification.

Requirements:

  • Professional License: Possess a professional license by the New York State Education Department, including a licensed social worker (LMSW), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), or licensed creative art therapists (LCAT).
  • Experience: Have at least 3-5 years of experience working with children and youth with significant emotional disorders, severe mental, emotional, and behavioral impairments, and families with complex, multi-system needs.
  • Evidence-Based Treatments: Have experience providing evidence-based treatments and familiarity with evidence-based practices.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License: Possess a valid NYS driver's license.
