We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our team at Helio Health. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in recovery from substance use and mental health disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement personalized recovery plans in collaboration with individuals.
- Link patients to community-based social and support services.
- Teach coping skills and provide non-clinical crisis support.
- Support the application process for benefits and accompany individuals to court appearances and medical appointments.
- Engage individuals with formal recovery support services and educate them on various modes of recovery.
- High School Graduate or Equivalency required.
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Certification required within six (6) months of hire and maintain CRPA certification throughout employment.
- One year of Health or Human Service experience preferred.
- An individual does not need to be in recovery themselves but must be able to confer empathy through lived experiences such as family and/or close friends.
- Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.
