Practical Nursing Specialist

The Practical Nursing Specialist is tasked with delivering essential nursing care, managing medication orders, providing updates to Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, training and orienting AMAPs, scheduling appointments, engaging in agency activities, and completing necessary documentation.
Join the Upstate Cerebral Palsy Team as a Practical Nursing Specialist
Opportunities are available for working with both adults and youth.
Flexible Scheduling: Ability to pick up 24 hours a month (12 off hours during weekdays & 12 off hours during weekends)
Paid Training: Starting pay at $30/hour with a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000.
Core Responsibilities:
- Foster the independence of individuals by implementing their Individual Program Plans.
- Attend to personal, self-care, and other needs of program participants.
- Provide support and initiate peer assistance among program participants.
- Encourage participant input in the creation of program activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants.
- Maintain and oversee the upkeep of equipment and supplies.
- Participate in activities as a member of the treatment team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant government and agency regulations and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- A.A.S. Degree or High School diploma with a Specialized Trade Certificate.
- Valid NYS Licensure as a Practical Nurse and current NYS Registration Certificate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel).
- Travel is required; a valid NYS Driver's License is necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SCIP-R and CPR certification.
