Job Summary

As a Youth Program Coordinator at the YMCA of Greater Seattle, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children in our Kid Zone drop-in care program. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate group games, arts, and STEM activities, ensuring that every child has a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a group of children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Implement program activities, which may include planning and executing games, arts, and STEM projects.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Engage with parents/guardians to provide information about their child's experience and promote upcoming programs.
  • Ensure that toys and equipment are clean, safe, set up, and stored properly.
  • Attend staff meetings and training programs as required.
Requirements
  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Six months or more previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp, child care, tutoring, nanny, or coaching setting.
  • Ability to model and demonstrate YMCA values, including caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
  • Experience planning and implementing group activities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations is also preferred.
