Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Sports Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the overall program development of our youth sports programming, including instructing classes, officiating youth sports games, and providing on-site leadership during practices and games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities for assigned youth sports programs.
  • Conduct staff meetings and trainings to ensure effective program implementation.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to youth sports instructors, referees, and volunteers as needed.
  • Engage with parents/guardians to provide pertinent information about their child's experience and promote upcoming programs.
  • Ensure that supplies are clean and safe, set up and stored properly, and report equipment problems to supervisor.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of sports.
  • One or more years of experience working with children.
  • Strong customer service skills, responding to multiple questions and resolving conflict.
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Current state-approved first-aid certification.
  • Current state-approved infant/child (or community if school-aged) CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
