Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will be tasked with conducting intricate medical laboratory analyses essential for diagnosing and treating illnesses. You will ensure the accuracy of test results, maintain sophisticated laboratory instruments, and oversee quality control and assurance protocols.

  • Conduct specimen processing and testing autonomously, including moderate to high complexity analyses. Take responsibility for the accuracy of test outcomes.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment; troubleshoot issues and implement corrective measures. Exhibit proactive problem-solving abilities, recognizing when to seek assistance for troubleshooting protocols.
  • Implement quality control measures, including running controls, analyzing data, documenting findings, and taking necessary corrective actions. Relay pertinent quality control information to supervisory personnel.
  • Assess the need for new methodologies, instrumentation, and technologies based on customer requirements, cost-effectiveness, and potential revenue, and communicate insights to management.
  • Ensure adherence to standards set by accrediting organizations. Serve as a resource for internal and external customers.
  • Oversee assigned projects, including planning, coordinating resources, establishing timelines, updating management on progress, and completing projects within designated timeframes.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: A. High school diploma (or equivalent) with 15 years of clinical laboratory experience OR B. Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment. -OR- C. Bachelor's Degree required, with preferred clinical laboratory experience. Minimum Licenses and Certifications: One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Certification may be waived for candidates with 5 years of laboratory experience.
