Job Summary

The Graduate Administrative Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for the Nursing and Systems Science (NSS) Department and the Advanced Practice and Community Based Care (APCBC) Department in the College of Nursing (CoN). This role provides comprehensive operational and administrative support and graduate programs coordination for the Department Chairs while serving as a liaison to the faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive operational and administrative support for the Department Chairs.
  • Coordinate graduate programs and serve as a liaison to the faculty.
  • Provide advanced administrative support and facilitate faculty administrative responsibilities.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion to accomplish a wide variety of duties.
  • Perform special projects as requested.
Requirements
  • One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR a Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or closely allied field and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher.
  • Clerical or office work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing complex administrative oversight and assistance to a senior administrator preferable in a higher education environment.
  • Experience managing schedules and travel arrangements.
  • Experience working in an academic environment.
  • Experience with Workday Enterprise Management System.
  • Experience with learning management platforms such as Canvas and Articulate.
