Position Summary:
The Director of Commercial Insights and Analytics will establish and lead a comprehensive function dedicated to developing operational capabilities in Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, and Commercial Analytics. This role is pivotal in supporting product launches and pipeline initiatives within the U.S.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop operational frameworks in the U.S., including defining roles, assembling teams, and implementing processes to support various functions such as Marketing, Market Access, Sales, and Medical Affairs.
  • Inspire and mentor team members to foster individual growth and a collaborative team environment.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality deliverables that support business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of innovation that emphasizes data-driven methodologies in commercial analytics and market research.
  • Provide actionable market, customer, and product insights to support commercial objectives.
  • Lead the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research initiatives for current and future assets.
  • Analyze research results in the context of broader insights, preparing timely reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Provider, Patient, and Payor market research.
  • Establish competitive intelligence processes to support global planning for the company and its brands.
  • Oversee activities aimed at gathering and synthesizing competitive information.
  • Support the evaluation of commercial strategies to assess ROI and optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Finance to manage departmental budgets, including vendor contracts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a hands-on approach to leadership.
  • Strong business acumen, including planning and budget management.
  • Experience in outsourcing commercial operations and managing partner relationships effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability in team motivation and talent development.
  • Ability to collaborate with Business Information Systems to define system requirements.
  • Understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks governing pharmaceutical operations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial roles within the biopharmaceutical sector, with 5-7 years focused on market research and analytics.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analytics within the U.S. pharmaceutical landscape.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a focus on implementing solutions for commercial teams.
  • Experience with start-ups and product launches is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of leading commercial vendors in the pharmaceutical industry.
