Position Overview:
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) in Pulmonology is responsible for the comprehensive management of patients with pulmonary conditions. This role involves the integration of clinical expertise and coordination of care, ensuring that patients receive holistic assessments that encompass biological, social, nutritional, and psychological factors.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage individualized care for pulmonary patients and their families during hospitalization and in outpatient settings.
2. Conduct daily rounds and perform pre-procedure evaluations.
3. Execute integrated assessments and order necessary tests in collaboration with pulmonary faculty.
4. Perform diagnostic tests and communicate results effectively to the healthcare team.
5. Facilitate patient discharge by coordinating follow-up services and appointments.
6. Develop comprehensive care plans that include education and referrals to other healthcare professionals as needed.
7. Demonstrate expertise in managing patients across various age groups and complexities.

Qualifications:
1. Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree as a Physician Assistant.
2. National Certification from recognized APRN Certification Centers or the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
3. Licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or eligibility for licensure in the relevant state.
4. BLS Certification required, with Advanced Life Support training preferred.
5. Experience in pulmonary or acute care settings is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Core Competencies:
1. Strong critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills.
2. Proficiency in utilizing medical equipment safely.
3. Ability to educate and mentor nursing staff, students, and patients effectively.
4. Commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge enhancement.

Work Environment:
This position may involve working closely with others, irregular hours, and exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases. Physical demands include lifting and moving patients and equipment.
