Role Summary
The Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for equipping students with essential clinical knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the field of Medical Assisting. This role involves maintaining accurate student records, collaborating with local healthcare partners, and ensuring compliance with educational standards. The instructor will report to the Director of Continuing Education and will play a key role in the development of course materials and learning resources.

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by relevant educational authorities.
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience in a Medical Assistant role.
  • For those without an accredited degree, four years of relevant training and experience is required.
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying body.
  • Possession of any necessary licenses or certifications as mandated by local, state, or federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability during evenings.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching or educational instruction.
  • Familiarity with educational methodologies and theories.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of students from various backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
