Position Overview:

The Business Operations team is seeking a mid-level Program Management Specialist / Business Systems Analyst to spearhead the deployment of essential business systems initiatives and processes, guiding projects from conception through execution and eventual transition to business stakeholders. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to establish precise requirements, facilitate the selection of suitable solutions, and oversee the implementation of systems for relevant BlackSky users. You will manage the delivery of programs and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency throughout the project lifecycle and advancing operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple simultaneous projects, encompassing IT initiatives and business application implementations.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering with internal stakeholders and navigate projects through the complete lifecycle, including the development of comprehensive project plans, management of timelines, risk identification, and stakeholder communication.
  • Assess and prioritize requirements while crafting technology solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Design innovative and appropriately scaled solutions, balancing technical and business requirements while making data-driven decisions.
  • Facilitate the evaluation and selection process for third-party vendors.
  • Comprehend the integration pathways of new system implementations and their implications for the broader business ecosystem.
  • Gain an understanding of BlackSky's foundational platform architecture, focusing on integration points and data structures.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Customer Success, Sales, IT, Security, Marketing, Finance Operations, Legal, and Engineering, to ensure organizational readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Track and report on success metrics.
  • Develop training programs for stakeholders to promote best practices during rollouts.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Regularly communicate project status, timelines, and deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough business analysis to clarify project requirements and objectives.
  • Analyze data, processes, and systems to uncover improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of business processes and requirements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical program management, demonstrating skills in deadline-driven work, milestone tracking, budget management, delegation, and cross-functional communication.
  • Proven ability in oral and written communication, influence, results orientation, facilitation, and teamwork.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, capable of managing extensive project data and task tracking to meet tight deadlines.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Strong business analysis capabilities, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and best practices.
  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to adjust to changing project requirements and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality internal business tools and applications with seamless third-party software integrations.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • At least 3 years of experience in building, managing, and supporting business systems such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Deltek, or other enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including motivating and guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in change management and supporting teams through transitions.
  • Ability to quickly become a subject matter expert on new business platforms and systems.
