Position Summary
We are seeking a Master Benefits Advisor / Master Trainer to provide comprehensive support in the realm of Veteran Affairs at a key military installation.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will engage in various transition activities aimed at enhancing the understanding of VA benefits and services. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting standardized briefings on VA Benefits and Services.
  • Facilitating one-on-one consultations and pre-separation counseling.
  • Participating in military life cycle events and Capstone activities.
  • Delivering warm-handover support to transitioning service members.
  • Providing leadership and expertise in training, logistics, policy, and program management.
  • Training other Benefits Advisors in accordance with adult learning principles.
  • Serving as a Master instructor to ensure adherence to established training objectives.
  • Revising course materials based on feedback from instructors and participants.

Operational Support
The Master Benefits Advisor will assist the Site Lead with staffing, event management, and logistical coordination. Responsibilities may encompass:

  • Overseeing operational deployment activities.
  • Managing travel logistics for staff.
  • Developing and implementing a coverage model.
  • Scheduling training sessions for field staff.
  • Conducting inventory management and order reviews.
  • Participating in leadership meetings to discuss program updates.
  • Communicating new policies and operational guidance to staff.
  • Executing quality management practices across the program.
  • Facilitating onsite activities and post-event data collection.
  • Delivering training for new employees to ensure effective curriculum delivery.

Required Skills
Candidates must possess:

  • A solid understanding of adult learning theories.
  • Knowledge of VA benefits programs.
  • Experience with transitioning service member populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong customer service and support capabilities.
  • Experience in delivering engaging workshops and training sessions.

Required Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or 5 – 7 years of relevant work or military experience.
  • Preferred background in Training, Education, Career Counseling, or Human Resources.
  • Relevant certifications.

Preferred Skills
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Familiarity with military operations and experience working with military personnel.
  • Insight into current veteran issues and challenges faced during transitions.
