Position Summary
We are seeking a Master Benefits Advisor / Master Trainer to provide comprehensive support for VA benefits at a military installation.

Key Responsibilities
The Master Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating transition activities related to VA benefits.
  • Conducting standardized briefings on VA Benefits and Services.
  • Engaging in one-on-one counseling sessions and pre-separation support.
  • Leading military life cycle events and Capstone activities.
  • Providing warm-handover support to transitioning service members.
  • Delivering training to fellow Benefits Advisors, utilizing adult learning principles.
  • Acting as a Master instructor to ensure adherence to training objectives and curriculum standards.
  • Revising course materials based on feedback from participants and instructors.

Operational Support
In addition to training responsibilities, the Master Advisor will assist the Site Lead with:

  • Staffing and event management at the installation.
  • Coordinating logistics and ensuring effective communication.
  • Managing travel arrangements for staff.
  • Developing a coverage model for the installation.
  • Scheduling training sessions for field staff.
  • Overseeing inventory management and order reviews.
  • Participating in leadership meetings and teleconferences.
  • Updating staff on new policies and operational guidelines.
  • Executing quality management practices across the program.
  • Conducting post-event data collection and analysis.
  • Delivering training for new employees to ensure preparedness in curriculum delivery.

Required Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of adult learning theories.
  • Knowledge of VA benefits programs.
  • Experience with transitioning service member populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent customer management and support capabilities.
  • Experience in delivering engaging workshops and training sessions.

Required Experience
Candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or 5 – 7 years of relevant work or military experience.
  • Preferred background in Training, Education, Career Counseling, or Human Resources.
  • Relevant certifications.

Preferred Skills
Additional desirable qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with military operations and experience working with military personnel.
  • Insight into current veteran issues and challenges faced during transitions.
