Position Overview
Role Summary: The Academic Support Assistant provides essential assistance to the designated department with various projects and tasks. Engages in additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications and Background: A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory. Candidates must be enrolled as a current student at Loma Linda University.
Skills and Competencies: Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication at a professional level; adept in utilizing necessary computer applications and software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); capable of operating and troubleshooting basic office machinery essential for the role. Demonstrates the ability to communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with peers; provides leadership; remains assertive and consistent in enforcing policies to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, rules, and laws; maintains composure and responds courteously under pressure; leads, supervises, instructs, and collaborates; accepts guidance. Proficient in effective communication in English, both in person and through written and telephonic means; exhibits critical thinking; works independently; performs fundamental mathematical and statistical functions; manages multiple tasks efficiently; composes written materials; thrives under pressure; solves problems; organizes and prioritizes workload; recalls information accurately; pays meticulous attention to detail. Capable of distinguishing colors as necessary; possesses adequate hearing for general conversations in person and over the phone, and identifies various sounds relevant to the workplace; sees sufficiently to read computer screens and necessary written documents.
