Position Overview

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) has been dedicated to providing exceptional youth development services since 1891. Our mission is to empower young individuals, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, to achieve their full potential as responsible and caring citizens.

At Gateway High School (GHS), we offer a range of support and enrichment initiatives aimed at ensuring every student graduates equipped with the essential skills and knowledge for success in higher education and beyond. The Student Support Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing two key student programs: Enrichment Programs and Leadership Programs. These initiatives are designed to provide students with comprehensive academic instruction, essential support services, and engaging extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management – 70%

  • Conduct weekly meetings with students focusing on collaboration with school leadership, promoting a positive school environment, and addressing community-related issues.
  • Design and implement curriculum centered on personal leadership and social-emotional learning.
  • Monitor student progress in tutoring sessions, providing case management and collaborating with families and educators for additional support.
  • Oversee the Study Café, ensuring appropriate usage and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
  • Serve as the official instructor for Independent Study students, managing attendance and evaluating progress.
  • Assist students in prioritizing and completing their academic work.
  • Facilitate online credit recovery for students through CyberHigh.
  • Act as a bridge between students and school staff, fostering student ideas and coordinating with educators for effective implementation.
  • Ensure student safety during transportation, adhering to organizational policies.

Administrative Duties – 15%

  • Accurately collect and analyze attendance and participation data, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Implement and monitor program outcome measurements as per BGCSF guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor that reflects the standards of BGCSF and GHS.

Collaborative Engagement – 15%

  • Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, including school staff and parents.
  • Provide regular updates on program progress to relevant parties.
  • Actively engage in school-wide events to promote program visibility.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development for high school enrichment programs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with youth, particularly from underserved communities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (to be obtained within 90 days of employment).
  • Ability to pass background checks and maintain a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to sit at a workstation for long durations.

Compensation:

The wage range for this position reflects various factors, including experience and qualifications. The estimated hourly rate is between $22.00 and $24.00.
