Position Overview:

The Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in collaborating with APP and departmental leadership, serving as a mentor and overseer for fellow advanced practice providers. This position encompasses administrative duties and reporting responsibilities in alignment with departmental standards. The APP Lead engages with the broader division workforce on matters pertinent to advanced practice providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mentor for advanced practice providers, providing guidance and expertise within the division.
  • Deliver healthcare services to patients in accordance with established supervisory agreements with attending physicians.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Focus on preventive health measures and the management of both acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Perform medical services as authorized by the relevant credentialing and certifying bodies.

Essential Duties:

The APP Lead is responsible for delivering healthcare services in partnership with licensed physicians, which includes:

  • Providing care during various phases of illness.
  • Educating and counseling patients and their families.
  • Promoting health and preventive care.
  • Referring patients to other healthcare providers and community resources as necessary.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio.
  • A graduate degree from an APRN program that qualifies for national certification examination eligibility recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing or Science.
  • Alternatively, a Master's Prepared graduate of a PA-C program eligible for certification by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Eligibility for licensure as a PA-C in the State of Ohio.

Experience Requirements:

Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience of 4-8 years in a similar role.
