Job Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a vital member of the healthcare team, specializing in outpatient surgical care. This role is designed for either an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or a Physician Assistant (PA) who possesses the necessary graduate-level education and is authorized to practice and prescribe medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient post-operative care.
  • Address and manage surgical complications effectively.
  • Evaluate and treat skin infections.
  • Consult on and excise soft tissue masses.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure optimal patient care in various medical settings, including telemedicine and clinics.

Experience Requirements:

Prior experience in General Surgery is preferred, enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Must hold a valid DEA license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner is required, verified by recognized nursing associations.
  • For Physician Assistants: A Master's Degree from an accredited program and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is necessary.
  • Current, valid licensure by the applicable state medical board is required.
