Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, collaborating closely with licensed physicians to deliver comprehensive patient care. This role involves assessing patients' health through detailed interviews, medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations. The APP plays a crucial role in interpreting test results, formulating initial diagnoses, and initiating appropriate treatment plans tailored to the ongoing healthcare needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough health assessments and document comprehensive health and developmental histories from patients and their families, alongside performing advanced physical examinations.
  • In partnership with licensed physicians, order and conduct specialized screening and diagnostic tests, analyze collected data, and determine necessary actions based on findings.
  • Communicate the importance, preparation, nature, and expected outcomes of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients and their families, while actively engaging in patient education on relevant health issues.
  • Assist in the development and execution of care plans that may involve various treatment options, prescribed medications, and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
  • Identify and manage both acute and chronic health conditions in accordance with established medical protocols in collaboration with physicians.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and care plans as per the standards set by the organization.
  • Enhance professional knowledge and skills through participation in educational seminars, workshops, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with medical documentation standards and billing procedures, while adhering to healthcare regulations.
  • Provide training and support to clinical staff as needed, and may assist in educating students and interns on specialized techniques and procedures.
  • Deliver emergency care and initiate life-saving measures as required, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • May be required to offer medical services at various affiliated healthcare facilities.
  • Participate in the development of organizational policies and procedures as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current board certification from AANP or ANCC/NCCPA, along with state licensure.
  • Preferred experience of two years in a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role.
  • Must possess current BLS certification.
