Phaxis is seeking a highly experienced and proficient Senior Financial Services Technology Specialist with over a decade of expertise in application support within the financial services sector, particularly in investment management. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a strong emphasis on application support and release management. This role is crucial for maintaining the stability, performance, and ongoing enhancement of our investment management applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Support:

  • Deliver expert-level assistance for investment management applications, ensuring peak performance and availability.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate issues related to applications and systems, collaborating with development teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor application performance and implement proactive strategies to avert downtime or performance degradation.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL.

Release Management:

  • Supervise and manage the release management process, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating application releases and updates.
  • Ensure seamless deployment of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes while minimizing disruption to production environments.
  • Develop and maintain release management documentation, including release plans, deployment procedures, and rollback strategies.

SDLC Management:

  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of the SDLC process to guide the development, testing, and deployment of financial applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, quality assurance, and business analysts, to ensure alignment with SDLC best practices.
  • Participate in the design and review of technical specifications, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to industry standards.

Cloud Experience:

  • Leverage Cloud technologies to enhance application performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Implement and manage Cloud-based solutions for application hosting, data storage, and disaster recovery.
  • Stay updated with Cloud trends and technologies to recommend and integrate innovative solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure technology solutions align with investment management objectives.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within application support and release management.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices to improve efficiency and mitigate operational risks.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services technology in application support, with a strong focus on investment management systems.
  • Proficient in the SDLC process and best practices.
  • Extensive experience in application support and release management.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Familiarity with financial services applications and investment management platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
