Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Sea Island Resort. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the coordination of all dessert and bakery items throughout the resort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of all dessert and bakery items, including purchasing, receiving, storage, issuance, preparation, and presentation.
- Control physical areas where the preparation occurs, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement new dessert and bakery menus.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality ingredients and equipment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end resort or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of pastry and baking techniques, including decorating and presentation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in culinary arts or related field preferred.
