Internship Opportunity

At Kiawah Island Golf Resort, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Baking & Pastry team as an Intern/Extern. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced culinary environment and develop your skills in pastry arts.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods
  • Work under the guidance of our experienced pastry chefs to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Participate in the production of bread, pastries, and other baked goods
  • Assist with food preparation, presentation, and service
  • Develop and maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited culinary institute or university
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week over the internship period
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds across short-medium distances
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of shift, while reaching, bending, and stooping
  • Ability to handle manual labor via whisking, chopping, piping, and repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines of service
  • Ability to work well with others, promoting a team environment and contributing to the growth and success of the team
