AVI Foodsystems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced culinary professional to fill the role of Sous Chef, Full-time at one of our healthcare accounts in Staten Island, NY.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Sous Chef. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the culinary team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals to meet specifications in a timely manner
  • Manage kitchen inventory and ensure supplies are fresh and of high quality
  • Lead the culinary team in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Develop and implement menu plans to meet customer needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations
Requirements
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in a culinary lead role
  • Experience in a high-volume catering environment preferred
  • Ability to build relationships by actively listening and responding to customer needs
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions
