About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Ama. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chef de Cuisine in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, coordinating kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and maintain a positive kitchen environment.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to local regulations and industry best practices.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste through efficient kitchen practices, ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment that promotes growth and development.
  • Assist in managing kitchen budgets and controlling food costs, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Chef on special events, catering, and promotions, contributing to the success of Ama's culinary initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, with the ability to implement and maintain high standards.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creating high-quality dishes that exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure under pressure and making sound decisions quickly.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
