Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Immigrant Food+ at Planet Word. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the successful operation of our new restaurant concept.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus that showcase our culinary expertise.
  • Anticipate ingredient needs and ensure timely re-stocking to maintain a productive kitchen flow.
  • Supervise hourly associates and work collaboratively with the Executive Chef to develop new menus and manage cost controls.
  • Execute catering events and roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
  • Produce high-quality plates that meet our quality standards and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently.
Requirements
  • Experience working as a sous chef or chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
  • Adaptability to high traffic and kitchen volume.
  • Catering experience a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
