Position Overview:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse (PICU RN) is a dedicated healthcare professional responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care in a critical environment. This role employs advanced nursing methodologies, cutting-edge technology, therapeutic interventions, and collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role:
This full-time position is situated within a highly specialized Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a leading healthcare facility. The PICU is recognized for its exceptional care, serving a diverse patient population from various regions. Our unit is designed to handle complex cases, providing an excellent opportunity for nurses to enhance their skills and knowledge while working alongside a team of esteemed healthcare professionals, including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Respiratory Therapists.

Common Patient Conditions:
- Severe Trauma
- Complex Surgical Cases
- Pre and Post-Operative Care for Organ Transplants
- Respiratory Complications
- Metabolic Disorders
- Multi-Organ Failure
- Sepsis
- Advanced Life Support Techniques

Qualifications:
- Active RN License in the state of practice.
- Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Valid PALS Certification.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- RNs with less than one year of experience must obtain a BSN within five years of employment.
- RNs in this role are required to achieve a BSN within three years of hire or promotion.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Nursing.
- Experience in Pediatric Hospital Nursing or Critical Care Nursing.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to read and interpret patient information and operate medical equipment.
- Frequent communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Manual dexterity for handling delicate equipment and performing documentation tasks.
- Physical capability to lift and transfer patients, as well as navigate busy clinical environments.
