Position Overview: The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the childcare site, ensuring exceptional learning experiences for children, maintaining a professional and effective staff, fostering positive relationships within the school community, and aligning the organization's mission, vision, and values as part of the Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Experience: Ensure that LASER values and best practices in curriculum and equity are integrated throughout the program.
  • Prioritize child safety in all program aspects.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the program and implement collaborative improvements as needed.
  • Support curriculum planning and development initiatives.
  • Lead communication and planning efforts for children and families in the program.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliant child files.
  • Ensure adherence to licensing and relevant regulations.

Leadership:

  • Supervise, mentor, and support Site Supervisors.
  • Oversee the supervision of Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers in collaboration with Site Supervisors.
  • Manage HR issues in conjunction with Site Supervisors and the Leadership Team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for staff in partnership with Site Supervisors.
  • Facilitate the hiring and onboarding of new staff members.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules and teaching teams.
  • Ensure compliance with staff documentation and records.
  • Plan ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Exemplify professionalism through effective communication and maintaining boundaries.

Community Engagement:

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with the school community.
  • Oversee family engagement and communication within the program.
  • Coordinate outreach, enrollment, and onboarding processes for families.

Organizational Integrity:

  • Ensure alignment with LASER's vision and values.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to maintain consistency across sites.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture.
  • Integrate equity and anti-bias practices throughout the program.
  • Understand and manage the site budget in collaboration with leadership.
  • Engage in strategic planning and problem-solving with the Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in child education and one year in an administrative role.
  • Demonstrated passion for child development and educational advocacy.
  • Reflective thinker with a compassionate approach to challenges.
  • Familiarity with licensing requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive in improving systems and processes.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
  • Adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Commitment to leadership development and professional growth.
  • Willingness to complete necessary continuing education as required.
