Position Title: Program Director
Employment Type: Full-time (Salaried, Non-Exempt—eligible for overtime), 40 hours per week, on-site.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the program site, ensuring exceptional learning experiences for children.
- Lead a professional and effective staff, fostering positive relationships within the school community.
- Align organizational mission, vision, and values across all activities as part of the Leadership Team.
Child Experience Excellence:
- Implement LASER values and best practices in curriculum and equity throughout the site.
- Prioritize child safety in all program aspects.
- Assess the effectiveness of the program and collaborate on necessary improvements.
- Support curriculum planning and development initiatives.
- Facilitate communication and support for children and families in the program.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with child file regulations.
- Maintain adherence to licensing and relevant governing laws.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and support Site Supervisors.
- Oversee Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers in collaboration with Site Supervisors.
- Manage HR issue escalations with Site Supervisors and the Leadership Team.
- Conduct performance evaluations for Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers.
- Lead the hiring and onboarding processes for new staff.
- Create and manage staff schedules and teaching teams.
- Maintain compliant staff documentation and files.
- Plan ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
- Exemplify professionalism through effective communication and boundary maintenance.
Community Engagement:
- Manage day-to-day relationships with the school in collaboration with the Strategic Director.
- Direct the site's relationships with families and the school community.
- Oversee outreach, enrollment, and onboarding of families.
Organizational Integrity:
- Ensure alignment with LASER's vision and values at the site.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to ensure consistency in staff, child, and family experiences.
- Promote a positive culture within the site and the organization.
- Integrate equity and anti-bias practices in all site activities.
- Understand the site budget in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Work with the Leadership Team on strategic planning and problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in child education and one year in administration.
- Demonstrated passion for child development and advocacy.
- Reflective thinker with an empathetic approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with licensing requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative nature.
