Position Title: Associate Electrical Engineer

Salary Range: $78,705

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD Drafting and other engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of electric substations or transmission systems planning, operations, and/or protection and controls.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and other engineering software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic engineering analyses of electric substations and transmission systems, providing recommendations for design options or major construction projects.
  • Assist in developing conceptual designs for substations and transmission line projects.
  • Engage in detailed design processes, performing engineering reviews, calculations, and recommending improvements based on standards or international codes.
  • Participate in creating reliability studies and outage contingency plans for electric systems and components.
  • Contribute to the development of BID Forms for engineering services and/or PayCU's for construction services, adhering to procurement policies.
  • Ensure timely issuance of all electrical documents, validating information for engineering analyses and applying engineering judgment to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Support the analysis and assessment of complex transmission systems across various voltage levels.
  • Document and communicate results and recommendations effectively, including data manipulation, report writing, and summary presentations.
  • Monitor quality aspects of engineering, ensuring compliance with design standards and accuracy of documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering peers in the analysis and review of projects, studies, and best practices.
  • Participate in site inspections and project meetings as necessary.
  • Assist during storm restoration efforts.
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to manage contractors and consultants, ensuring effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project management teams.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies to enhance power system performance as required.
