Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer at PDG, your primary duties will include:

  • Designing comprehensive electrical systems for both new constructions and renovations, encompassing power, lighting, fire alarm, and specialized systems.
  • Delegating tasks to and overseeing the work of junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Assisting in the development of project schedules and workload management for team members.
  • Editing specifications from established libraries.
  • Receiving and implementing general reviews of your work.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical circuit theory and design.
  • Strong understanding of building power distribution systems.
  • Expertise in computer network systems and their communication infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing and fluency in English.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CAD software, including AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (N.E.C. / NFPA 70).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new challenges and complex problems.
  • Experience with lighting technologies applicable to buildings.

Experience and Education
Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Progress towards or possession of Professional Engineering (PE) certification in New York State.
  • A valid NYS DMV Driver's License.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in designing building electrical systems.

Work Environment
This role may require occasional travel to various project sites and client interactions.

Physical Demands
The position involves extended periods of sitting at a computer and travel within New York State.

Salary Range
The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000, commensurate with experience.
