About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Fintech Business Development Manager to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a key member of our Startup Business Development team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to build mindshare and broaden the use of Amazon's cloud computing platform with Fintech startups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the founders/leaders of venture-backed startups in Fintech to identify their technical and commercial challenges/opportunities and map those needs onto people, technology, knowledge, programs, relationships across Amazon that could potentially help.
  • Develop the Fintech strategy for North America and execute the strategic business development plan while collaborating with key internal stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with key venture funds and investors in Fintech, including putting AWS assets to work on behalf of their portfolio companies and driving customer and partner relationships for the portfolio.
  • Conceive, author and secure support for launching and executing new initiatives and programs to meet the needs of Fintechs.
  • Discover, capture and report back learnings from the field about challenges and opportunities as they relate to Fintech.
  • Produce Fintech thought leadership and technical-leaning content, workshops and events for the startup ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Founder/CxO/early employee of one or more fintech ventures
  • 15+ years of business experience in financial services including business development, strategy or sales responsibilities
  • Proven ability to build trust and manage relationships with the C-level leadership of startups, managing directors of investor organizations and other key influencers in the startup ecosystem
  • Knowledge of core cloud computing concepts as they relate to Fintechs including compute, storage, databases and machine learning
  • Ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate among various AWS services
  • Proven ability to execute as an individual contributor in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities and limited resources
  • Experience working effectively and cross-functionally within a large organization
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments or as a practice leader or business unit owner
  • MBA or equivalent, ideally with a focus on finance
  • Speaking engagements at Fintech conferences and industry events
  • AWS SA Associate or equivalent certification
  • SQL, analytics and visualization experience
