Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Superintendent

We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team at JP Recruiting Agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, overseeing security operations, and leading the EHS team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental Responsibilities:
    • Ensure compliance with EPA and Arizona environmental practices and regulations.
    • Develop and implement environmental management systems to meet State and Federal regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure employee understanding and compliance with environmental requirements.
    • Manage environmental monitoring and sampling programs, and ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
    • Develop and implement corrective actions to address environmental incidents and near misses.
  • Safety Responsibilities:
    • Ensure compliance with federal MSHA/OSHA and state ADOSH practices and regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
    • Lead and participate in accident and incident investigations, and develop recommendations for improvement.
    • Develop and implement safety management systems to meet ISO 45001 standards.
    • Provide training and assistance to employees, consultants, and contractors on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Security Responsibilities:
    • Oversee security employees and contract security companies.
    • Develop and implement security protocols to ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • OSHA and MSHA authorized, or ability to become so.
  • 15+ years of EHS experience in the mining industry, with progressive leadership roles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
