Job Summary:
SUMCO is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team at our U.S. Headquarters. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Senior EHS Manager to develop and implement safety compliance programs at assigned facilities, including Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, and Fall Protection programs.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain and manage the Arsenic Program and the Emergency Response Team.
- Assist in internal EHS auditing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the necessary training and skills to perform these tasks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Safety Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in site-level EHS compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience working with regulators during routine inspections, permit applications, and modifications.
- Basic knowledge of environmental and safety regulations associated with a manufacturing facility.
- Understanding of and practical experience in Safety regulations, including OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926).
- Working understanding and experience with conducting accident/injury investigations, including root cause analyses.

- Competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on education and experience.
