About the Role

WillScot is seeking a seasoned Sr. Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for our North American locations. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle payroll process, including payroll tax reporting, tax compliance, and stock compensation. Your expertise will be crucial in driving best practices and process optimization, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of payroll services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage payroll operations for North America, including payroll tax reporting, tax compliance, and stock compensation
  • Provide oversight and direction for the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll services
  • Drive process optimization and best practices as the subject matter expert in various payroll projects
  • Ensure internal and external audits and reconciliations align with policies, procedures, and legal standards
  • Guide, coach, and mentor payroll staff
  • Oversee external vendors involved in payroll processing
  • Serve as subject matter expert to support Merger & Acquisition activities
  • Build partnerships with internal and external payroll stakeholders to define and develop successful processes and practices
Requirements
  • 10+ years of cumulative experience with US hourly and salaried payroll processing in multi-state and multi-entity environments
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or relevant years of experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
  • Canadian payroll experience
  • CPP certification
  • SAP payroll experience
  • Experience with prevailing wage
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and continuously optimizing payroll processes and internal controls
