Key Responsibilities- Manage full-cycle payroll processing, including tax reporting, compliance, and remittance
- Provide strategic direction for the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of services
- Drive process optimization and best practices through payroll projects, system changes, and integrations
- Ensure internal and external audits, reconciliations, and compliance with policies and legal standards
- Guide and develop payroll staff, overseeing external vendors and supporting M&A activities
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to define and develop scalable processes and practices
- Lead internal controls and documentation in accordance with SOX
- 10+ years of cumulative experience with US hourly and salaried payroll processing in multi-state and multi-entity environments
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or relevant years of experience
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Canadian payroll experience
- CPP certification
- SAP payroll experience
- Experience with prevailing wage
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing payroll processes and internal controls
