About the Role

WillScot is seeking a seasoned Sr. Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for our North American locations. As a key member of our HR team, you will lead payroll processing, tax compliance, and system optimization initiatives. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and project management skills to ensure seamless integration of newly acquired teams and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing, including tax reporting, compliance, and remittance
  • Provide strategic direction for the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of services
  • Drive process optimization and best practices through payroll projects, system changes, and integrations
  • Ensure internal and external audits, reconciliations, and compliance with policies and legal standards
  • Guide and develop payroll staff, overseeing external vendors and supporting M&A activities
  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to define and develop scalable processes and practices
  • Lead internal controls and documentation in accordance with SOX
Requirements
  • 10+ years of cumulative experience with US hourly and salaried payroll processing in multi-state and multi-entity environments
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or relevant years of experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
  • Canadian payroll experience
  • CPP certification
  • SAP payroll experience
  • Experience with prevailing wage
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing payroll processes and internal controls
