Procurement Specialist

**Job Summary**
Midway Products Group is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for following established practices and procedures to recommend and monitor suppliers, negotiate payment terms, price, and freight, and support all MPG plant facilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Reviews and establishes purchase requisitions to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
• Establishes and approves sources of raw materials and supplies, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Receives quotations and secures bids from qualified suppliers, evaluating their competitiveness and suitability for MPG's needs.
• Supervises the negotiations of purchase contracts, follow-up, scheduling, and expediting of deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials and supplies.
• Maintains control of receipt, acknowledgment of materials and supplies, and the maintenance of purchasing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Cooperates with production, research, engineering, and other departments to develop equipment, product specifications, and substitute materials that meet MPG's quality and performance requirements.
• Recommends departmental policies, procedures, and programs to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
• Reviews, recommends, processes, and resolves disputed claims against suppliers for unsatisfactory materials or equipment.
• Stays up-to-date on price trends in basic raw materials and supplies, making recommendations on the timing and quantity of purchases to ensure optimal cost savings.
• Has authority to negotiate payment terms, price, and freight with suppliers.
• Visits vendor's offices and plants to investigate facilities, capacity, and ability to meet quality requirements, specifications, and delivery dates.
**Requirements**
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to evaluate complex data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in computer software applications, including procurement systems and Microsoft Office.
