Job Summary: The Procurement Support Specialist will assist the Procurement Manager in acquiring granite slabs, tools, equipment, and other essential materials for the operations of Pro-Tops. This position entails managing vendor relationships, ensuring prompt delivery of materials, and maintaining precise documentation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the acquisition of granite slabs, tools, equipment, and other necessary materials for Pro-Tops.
  • Maintain and update inventory logs, track orders, and oversee stock levels to guarantee sufficient supply.
  • Engage with vendors to obtain pricing, negotiate terms, and place orders.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and address any issues related to delays or discrepancies.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in assessing vendor performance and identifying potential new suppliers.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all information.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as production and logistics, to comprehend material needs and prioritize orders accordingly.
  • Assist in managing and nurturing vendor relationships, including addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Conduct market analysis to remain informed about industry trends, pricing, and new product offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor contracts, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or an associate degree or higher in business, supply chain management, or a related field, is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the granite or construction industry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with purchasing software or ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of granite products and the industry is a plus.
