Position Overview

Salary:
Pasado's Safe Haven is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Technician to take on the role of Sanctuary Clinic Operations Manager. This position involves overseeing the daily functions of our veterinary rehabilitation clinic located within our expansive animal sanctuary. The Sanctuary Clinic Operations Manager will collaborate with animal care personnel and veterinary professionals to ensure that medical needs of rescued animals are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage clinic operations, including scheduling for routine care, animal intakes, and surgical procedures, while ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Coordinate with external veterinarians and specialists to arrange medical care for animals, ensuring clear communication of treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Provide essential medical care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and farmed species, under the guidance of veterinarians.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, while maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring accurate reporting of results.
  • Prepare surgical and examination rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Work with finance and operations teams to manage inventory and procurement of medical supplies, minimizing waste.
  • Assist in the intake process for new animals, providing necessary medical information to support their transition.
  • Act as a liaison during medical emergencies, coordinating with veterinary staff to ensure prompt and effective care.
  • Participate in team meetings to provide insights on medical care and assist in training animal caregivers on best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures for clinic functions and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with staff, veterinarians, and suppliers, and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in veterinary medicine.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess the following:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician certification.
  • Experience in managing a veterinary clinic is highly desirable.
  • Background in animal shelters or sanctuaries is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and a commitment to the organization's mission.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various technology platforms.
